Kink/BDSM & Power Dynamics
You should never feel anxious about telling your therapist about what you're into, which is why it is important to find someone who won't make a big deal out of floggers, cuffs, and collars. While therapy isn't always focused on these things, having a therapist you can be open with is crucial.
As a sex positive and kink competent clinician (with specialized training and lived experience), I will not judge what you and other consenting adults do, nor turn it into something to be psychoanalyzed. I want to be there to help you celebrate the joys and process the difficulties that come with it, because not only do I understand it, but I have been there.
I follow the best practices put out by the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Working with People with Kink Interests.
I am a proud member of sex positive organizations American Association of Sexuality, Educators, Counselors, and Therapists and National Coalition For Sexual Freedom.
I have advanced training in sexual health and therapy through the Ohio Center for Relationship & Sexual Health.
