What Does the process look like?

Let's Deep Dive into the Relationship

We start with a deep dive into your relationship. Think of it as Relationship Discovery 101 to understand your relationship history.

Between the first and second session you and your partner have the opportunity to take a comprehensive relationship assessment from the Gottman Institute.

We will additionally have have two separate sessions (one with each of you) to get to know you better. I want to understand YOU and what you bring to the table.

In the third session, we'll sit down together, review your personalized couple’s assessment, and brainstorm goals. We'll craft these goals together, and you'll even walk away with your own copy

Now, onto the good stuff - the treatment phase!

We will start each season with recapping our last session, then we'll jump into tackling those goals together.

I use the two most widely researched and successful approaches to couples therapy, The Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often do I need to go to couples therapy?

It varies from couple to couple; some opt for weekly sessions, while those preferring 90-minute sessions often schedule bi-weekly. At the beginning of couples therapy, we always start with sessions spaced no more than 14 days apart.

How long does couples therapy last?

My goal? To work myself out of a job! I'm here to dive as deep as you are into what's brought you here. Depending on what we're tackling, therapy usually lasts about 5 to 10 months on average.

How much does couple's therapy cost and do you take insurance?

I don't work directly with insurance companies—I operate as an out-of-network provider. My standard rate is $200 per hour, and for the initial 90-minute intake session, it's $360 (which includes your comprehensive couples assessment). For ongoing 90-minute sessions, it's $300. I'll provide you with a superbill for potential insurance reimbursement, but I can't guarantee the insurance company will reimburse you.
